Instrumentation. In this study, the scale of “Student Perceptions of Teachers’ Knowledge (SPOTK)” which was originally developed by Tuan, Chang and Wang (2000) was adapted to Turkish. The original scale consisted of 28 items and four dimensions such as; instructional repertoire (8 items), representational repertoire (7 items), subject matter knowledge (6 items) and knowledge of student understanding (7 items). Sample and Procedure. The sample of this study consisted of primary school students who were selected randomly from three different regions at the cities of K?r?ehir and Denizli. With disproportionate cluster sampling method, one school for each of three socio-economic regions was selected randomly in each city. The scale was administered to all the students in each selected school. In this way, a total of 397 students accepted to participate in the study. Scale Adaptation. The original scale was translated into Turkish by the researchers independently. The translated version was examined by the three Turkish language experts in the aspects of meaning and culture. Then the scale was back-translated into English by the three other bilingual language experts. The improved Turkish form of the scale was administered to the sample group.
