Examination of the education systems of some countries according to international student assessment programs

Education level and quality is one of the important criteria affecting national development and is closely related to the aspect of increasing the living standards of individuals. For this purpose, it is a necessity to evaluate the performance of the education system, which is one of the areas where the most resources are allocated from the public budget, and take corrective measures accordingly. This evaluation can be done at the national level or at the international level. The purpose of this research is to examine the relationship between the economic indicators and education systems of the countries participating in PISA 2009, one of the international student assessment and evaluation exams. For this purpose, the statistical data and documents of the education systems of the countries participating in PISA 2009 were examined and the relationship between the countries included in the sample in terms of per capita national income was described. This research, Among the scanning models, the comparison type is in the relational scanning model. Sampling type is purposeful sampling. Descriptive statistics were used to analyze the data. As a result, it has been determined that the forms of compulsory education and the duration of compulsory education differ in developed countries, and there is no parallel between the population and economy components and the ranking of per capita income and the PISA 2009 ranking in the form of increase or decrease together.
