The competitive economy makes individuals feel the need to educate themselves better than others. For this purpose, students' willingness and need to do additional studies in addition to their school education paved the way for the establishment of private teaching institutions. Since the first days of their establishment, the existence of private teaching institutions has been questioned and their closure has come up. A bill was brought to the agenda in the constituent assembly in the 1980s to close private teaching institutions, but was rejected after long discussions. Various studies have been conducted on private tutoring schools, whose closure has come back on the agenda in recent years, but it has been observed that there are limited studies on the views of parents of students, one of the most relevant stakeholders. In this study, It is aimed to examine the attitudes of parents of students with different socio-economic levels towards private teaching institutions with a descriptive approach. The population of the study consists of parents who have students in primary and secondary schools located in the city center of Amasya, and the sample consists of 100 parents from four schools with different socio-economic levels. In this study designed in line with the qualitative research approach, "content analysis" was made. A semi-structured interview form prepared by the researchers was used to determine parent attitudes. Before preparing the interview questions, national and international literature on the subject of the research was reviewed and qualitative and quantitative studies on the subject were used.
