Relationship between career barriers and job satisfaction levels of female teachers

In this study, it is aimed to determine the relationship and predictive level of female teachers' career barriers with their job satisfaction levels. The working group of the research in 21 provinces in Turkey working in primary schools in urban centers constitutes 1,070 female teachers. In the descriptive study, the data were collected using the 'Women's Career Barrier Scale' (KKEÖ) and 'Job Satisfaction Scale' (ISS). Research results do not reveal a strong relationship between women's career barriers and their job satisfaction. Again, according to research results, women's career barriers have a limited effect on the sub-dimensions of job satisfaction. Career barriers of female teachers, job satisfaction, respectively, 'communication', 'social rights', 'work done', 'working conditions', 'salary', 'job structure', It affects the 'relations with the first superior', 'management' and 'colleagues' sub-dimensions. Female teachers' job satisfaction is most affected by barriers stemming from 'gender stereotypes in society, family situations and women's own perspectives'. The low level prediction of female teachers' career barriers to their job satisfaction may be due to the fact that women and men internalize the lack of women in management processes.
