Relationships between primary school students' aggressive behavior and age, gender, achievement and anger

In this study, the relationships between the aggressive behavior of primary school students and age, gender, perceived academic achievement and anger were examined. The study was carried out with the participation of 520 students (49.8% girls and 50.2% boys) between the ages of 9 and 14, who study at five public primary schools in the central district of Edirne in the 2008-2009 academic year. In the study, Personal Information Form, Aggression Scale and Trait Anger-Anger Style Scale were used to collect data on students' anger and aggression levels. Pearson product moment correlation coefficient and hierarchical multiple regression analysis were used in the analysis of the data obtained. The results were determined by primary school students' aggressive behavior and age, gender, Significant and positive relationships were found between perceived success and anger. It was found that anger significantly predicted students' aggressive behavior. Based on the findings obtained as a result of the study, some suggestions were made that may help studies on prevention of aggression.
