Despite special classrooms and educational programs being developed for special needsstudents in the 19thcentury, it is now believed that the inclusion of special needsstudents withmainstream students is the more effectiveoption. The aim of this study was to examine the views of elementaryschool teachers about inclusive education. Data was collected through interviewsand the data analyzed using thecontent analysis method. Five teachers from a state school in Gaziantep, Turkey,participated inthe study. It was found that when families wereinterested in special needsstudents, their teachers also shared that interest. The study also found that parents and teachers lackeddetailed knowledge about inclusion, as well asmeasurement and evaluation not being satisfactorily conducted.
